The Booking Biz is thrilled to welcome acclaimed author Tami Charles into our family.
Tami wowed reviewers with her debut middle-grade novel LIKE VANESSA. The book received three starred reviews, was a Junior Library Guild Selection, and was in the top 10 lists of Indies Introduce and Spring Kids’ Next. She followed that with the funny DEFINITELY DAPHNE series, and her upcoming picture book biographies FEARLESS MARY: MARY FIELDS, AMERICAN STAGECOACH DRIVER and BECOMING BEATRIZ, as well as the picture book FREEDOM SOUP, are all eagerly anticipated.
A former teacher, Tami puts her teacher experience to work in her school visits, where she talks about writing, being fearless, nonfiction and more.
But Tami has other experiences that help her when she’s in front of an audience: She was once in an all-girl R&B singing group! They even had a song on the radio and performed on BET and for the Apollo.
We knew she was a celebrity.
