The Train of Lost Things by Ammi-Joan PaquetteInternational rights for Ammi-Joan Paquette‘s THE TRAIN OF LOST THINGS have been sold to Beijing White Horse Time (China), by Harim Yim at Rights People, on behalf of Erin Murphy at Erin Murphy Literary Agency.

Author Erica S. Perl, well-known for her popular picture books and middle-grade novels, has some exciting new books for emerging and newly independent readers. First, there’s the CRAFTILY EVER AFTER short chapter book series, which Perl writes under the name “Martha Maker.” These books are about four curious and creative kids who have backyard STEM adventures. Books 1-4 are out now, with more on the way. In January, she’ll introduce the world to Arnold and Louise, a bear and a chipmunk who are best friends, in THE GREAT LOUWEEZIE. In this first book of the ARNOLD AND LOUISE early reader series, Louise insists she can predict the future… but Arnold doesn’t want to risk losing his lucky marble to find out.

APPEARANCES

R.W. “Bob” Alley, the renowned Illustrator of the Paddington Bear books, will be appearing at The Carle Honors Annual Benefit and Art Gala in New York on Sept. 27 and offering an original piece for auction. On Sept. 29, Bob will be in Amherst, Massachusetts, presenting at the Carle Museum demonstrating his process for illustrating the famous Paddington Bear.

Swing by Kwame Alexander and Mary Rand HessKwame Alexander will be on tour with Mary Rand Hess for their new young adult novel SWING in October. Appearances begin Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Vero Beach, Florida, with stops in Winona Lake, Indiana; St. Paul, Minnesota; Charlottesville, Virginia; Chicago; Herndon, Virginia; Austin, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Bradenton, Florida; Key West, Florida; Beaverton, Oregon; Tacoma, Washington; Los Angeles; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Pittsboro, North Carolina; and ending in Arlington, Virginia on Firday, Oct. 19. On Oct. 13, Kari Anne will be in Houston participating in the Tweens Read conference. Then on Oct. 27 and 28, she’ll be at the Texas Book Festival in Austin, Texas, discussing her new book KNOCKOUT and chatting on a panel with her Typewriter Rodeo co-authors.
