The work of R.W. “Bob” Alley needs no introduction. His illustrations have brought Paddington Bear to life for the last 21 years. He has illustrated about 20 board books, picture books and novels written by the late creator of Paddington, Michael Bond, including the last book written by Bond he passed away, PADDINGTON AT ST. PAUL’S. Bob also won a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor for his illustrations in the picture book PEARL AND WAGNER ONE FUNNY DAY by Kate McMullan. More recently, Bob wrote and illustrated a picture book series with four siblings in four seasons: GRETCHEN OVER THE BEACH, CLARK IN THE DEEP SEA, MITCHELL ON THE MOON and ANNABELLE AT THE SOUTH POLE.

Bob has also collaborated with his wife Zoë B. Alley. Together they helped author Garth Stein bring the canine narrator of his novel THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN, Enzo, to picture books. Enzo stars in ENZO RACES IN THE RAIN!, ENZO’S VERY SCARY HALLOWEEN, ENZO AND THE CHRISTMAS TREE HUNT and ENZO AND THE FOURTH OF JULY RACES.

Zoë has also written two books of classic nursery tale retellings in graphic novel form, both illustrated by Bob. The most recent, THERE’S A PRINCESS IN THE PALACE, was published in 2010. The original THERE’S A WOLF AT THE DOOR was a Washington Post Best Book of the Year.
