Kwame Alexander has signed a three-book deal with Blink YA Books, with the first, SOLO, coming in August 2017. In Kwame’s words, “It’s a love story. It’s a change the world story. Its a find your self story. It’s a rock and roll story. It’s a new novel that me and my homegirl Mary Rand Hess wrote.” Take a look at the gorgeous cover!

Librarians and teachers asked for a downloadable poster that said “Who’s Your Reading Buddy?” and The Booking Biz founder and children’s author Carmen Oliver of BEARS MAKE THE BEST READING BUDDIES listened. A huge thank you to her publisher Capstone who made it possible and created the gorgeous poster for libraries, classrooms and “peaceful places where no one bothers you while you read.” Click here to download the poster. Carmen will be speaking at the Charlotte S. Huck Children’s Literature Festival on March 3, 2017 in Redlands, CA. She hopes to see many friends there.
Penny Parker Klostermann’s picture book THERE WAS AN OLD DRAGON WHO SWALLOWED A KNIGHT will be included in Scholastic Reading Clubs starting in February 2017 and in Scholastic Book Fairs in fall of 2017.
Booking Biz client, Liz Garton Scanlon who co-wrote the funny picture book BOB, NOT BOB will be celebrating the book’s release and signing copies at TLA in April. Illustrated by Matthew Cordell, the book comes out on Feb. 14.
